Snow Job (1972)

Amazing Extreme Skiing Footage of Jean-Claude Killy
For ski enthususiasts of my generation, Jean-Claude Killy was an icon of style and racing perfection. In Snow Job he displays some breathtaking extreme skiing skills on the glaciers of Cervinia in the Aosta Valley of Italy. This is the only theatrical ski film I've ever seen that is constructed around an action-adventure plot. The narrative and some of the supporting performances are somewhat clumsy, but at least the producers tried to tell a fun story. It's clear that Killy tried hard, as well, to portray a real character that has flair and humor. If he'd gotten a second attempt at making an action-adventure ski film it might have been terrific. Snow Job is worth watching, though, just for the dramatic skiing sequences.
